A little bit about me . . .
Hi, my name is Ms. Deanna Furlano. This year marks my fourth year of teaching.
Originally, I was working towards a Biology degree at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois. During this time, I helped to implement a science inquiry program throughout the Chicago Metropolitan Area. This led me to write a grant to teach and implement the science inquiry program at two high-risk, multicultural schools in Flagstaff, Arizona. My goals started changing- I was bit by the teaching bug, the result was a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Biology.
Teaching at St. Thomas the Apostle School holds a special place in my heart because I was a student here for nine years from Kindergarten to Eighth grade. I’m glad to be back! This is my way to “pay it forward” and give back to St. Thomas.
